Who should attend:
Operators (both novice and experienced), who are involved in the operation of mobile cranes (either lattice or telescopic boom), including rough terrain type of cranes operating either “on rubber” or “on outriggers”, requiring OHASA certification. Supervisors / Managers responsible to manage operator performance.

Course Includes:

Identify the different types of Mobile Cranes
Identify and state the function of major components of the Crane
Identify and state the function of controls
Identify and state the principles of operation of the crane
Perform all pre operational checks prior to operating the crane
Perform all control and operational checks prior to operating the crane
Perform all close down checks when parking the crane
Know how to park and set up the crane for use with capacity load charts
Identify the different lifting equipment used with the crane and crane signals
Correct lifting and maneuvering of loads
General safety rules
Indicators and duties charts
Standing and support conditions
Jibs and fly jibs (if applicable)

 

 

 

 

Duration: 
Novice Operator: 5 days

Re-certification: 1 day

Training Ratio: Maximum 4 per instructor
